Product Highlights:
• Patent pending design fragments gel slices into small pieces for easy extraction
• Allows simple transfer using 1 mL pipet tips without clogging
The gel breaker tube is a 0.5 mL tube with four 10μm holes designed to fragment acrylamide and agarose gel slices. The gel slice is placed inside the gel breaker tube which is then stacked into a 2 mL microfuge tube. Centrifugation at 14,000 rpm allows the gel to move through the holes, fragmenting the gel. Water or buffer can then be added to elute out the DNA or RNA. The fragmented gel pieces are small enough that a 1 mL pipet tip will pick up the gel pieces, allowing easy transfer to the 5μm filter tubes.
